The official spokesperson for UNIFIL, Andrea Tenenti, commented on the martyrdom of Lebanese journalists today in an Israeli airstrike in the south. Tenenti, in response to a question from the National News Agency, stated that "UNIFIL was shocked and saddened to hear about the targeting of a group of journalists near Tyre Harfah in southern Lebanon." He expressed, "We extend our condolences to the families and friends of the victims." He considered that "the deliberate targeting of journalists and civilians constitutes a violation of international law and could rise to the level of war crimes." He emphasized that "UNIFIL continues to urge all parties to respect the safety of journalists and civilians and to avoid striking areas where they might be at risk of harm or death."
