The vicinity of Damascus was hit by an Israeli airstrike. The Syrian news agency SANA reported a Syrian military source stating, "The Israeli enemy launched an attack with guided missiles from the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some positions in the vicinity of Damascus. The aggression resulted in injuries to a soldier and some material losses." According to the agency, Syrian air defenses responded to the attack, without providing further details.
There were reports that the strike targeted an Iranian weapons shipment at Damascus airport, in addition to weapons storage facilities around the capital. Meanwhile, the airport announced it is operating as usual and has not suffered any damage from the Israeli aggression. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the missiles targeted sites a few kilometers from Damascus International Airport, and around the Al-Kisweh area, resulting in the destruction of a site in Al-Kisweh and a location housing vehicles near the airport. The observatory noted that Israeli missiles targeted at least three Syrian army sites that contained warehouses and military positions for Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian groups, two of which are in the Al-Kisweh area in Damascus countryside and a site in the southeastern region of the Syrian capital.
