Kurdistan Region of Iraq Sets Election Date

The government of the Kurdistan Region in northern Iraq announced in a statement today, Sunday, that the parliamentary elections will take place on June 10th. The statement mentioned that the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Nechirvan Barzani, issued a decree today approving the date. The elections are held to select members of parliament and a president for the Kurdish regions, which gained semi-autonomous status in 1991.
