Patriarch Raï: The Decision of War and Peace Belongs Exclusively to the Lebanese Government

Maronite Patriarch Beshara Raï emphasized that "it is essential to adhere to Resolution 1701 and to keep Lebanon from entering Israel's war on Gaza, while our people in the south are suffering." He reminded that the decision of war and peace belongs exclusively to the Lebanese government. In his Epiphany sermon, Patriarch Raï stated: "We do not cease to demand the right of the Palestinian people to return to their land; this means is more effective than war, hunger, and deprivation. We call for an end to the war and destruction and for finding solutions through diplomatic means."
