The U.S. State Department stated today, Wednesday, that "Washington condemns the demolition of the home of Fakhri Abu Diab, a local leader in East Jerusalem," adding that "these actions harm Israel's standing globally." Matthew Miller, the department's spokesperson, told reporters, "These actions hinder efforts to achieve lasting peace and security that would benefit not just the Palestinians, but also the Israelis."
