Resumption of Military Operations in Gaza After Ceasefire Ends

The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip officially ended this morning, Friday, without an announcement of an extension. The seventh day of the temporary truce between the two sides in Gaza passed without news of a new extension, while the Israeli army announced that Hamas violated the ceasefire by launching a rocket towards Israeli territory.

On Friday morning, the Israeli army stated that its aircraft are currently bombing Hamas targets in Gaza, noting that a rocket launched from Gaza was intercepted. The Israeli army reported that one launch operation was discovered and intercepted by air defense fighters after alert status was activated in the Gaza envelope, amid reports of successful negotiations to extend the ceasefire for an eighth day.

This comes as clashes have reportedly renewed in the northwestern axis of Gaza City. Following that, eyewitnesses reported heavy military aircraft and drone activity in the northwestern areas of Gaza City.
