Iraq Condemns Attack Targeting American Soldiers in Jordan

The Iraqi government condemned today, Monday, the attack that resulted in the death of three American soldiers in Jordan, describing it as part of an escalation that threatens regional stability and urging an end to the "cycle of violence." Iraqi government spokesman Bassem Al-Awadi pointed out that "the Iraqi government condemns the ongoing escalation, especially the recent attack that occurred on the Syrian-Jordanian border, and is following with great concern the serious security developments in the region." The attack occurred just after Iraq and the United States began talks about ending the military coalition led by Washington, which has been deployed in Iraq for ten years as part of the campaign against the Islamic State organization.
