General Ibrahim from Dar Al-Fatwa: Every Internal Dialogue is More Important than Any External Dialogue

General Abbas Ibrahim emphasized that every internal dialogue is more important than any external dialogue. He added after his meeting with the Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, at Dar Al-Fatwa: "Today's visit to this noble national house is a natural visit, especially since there is an occasion to congratulate His Eminence on remaining at the head of this institution. We need him more than ever as a moderate and dialogic figure in these difficult days that the country is going through."

In response to a question about whether he is working towards the presidency, he said: "I have no ambitions; I visit Mufti Derian because he is a man of dialogue, and I continue to advocate on every platform for dialogue as a mandatory path for the Lebanese to reach consensus on everything, not just on the presidency."

Regarding whether dialogue leads to results, he said: "We do not want dialogue just to see if there can be dialogue; rather, how do we wish to understand each other without having dialogue among us?"
