Christmas Tree at a Depth of 30 Meters Underwater

The Director-General of Civil Defense, Brigadier Raymond Khattar, oversaw a unique Christmas activity carried out by the Marine Rescue Unit, determined to spread a message of joy during the festive season and provide an atmosphere of happiness despite the repercussions of the severe economic crisis.

Divers dressed as Santa Claus successfully installed the Christmas tree at a depth of 30 meters off the coast of Jounieh, adorned with waterproof lights.

Brigadier Khattar visited the Marine Rescue Unit headquarters in Jounieh, where he was welcomed by Christmas music played by one of the team members on the violin. He then joined the team in decorating the Christmas tree during a tour on a Zodiac rescue boat until they reached the designated location off the beach, where he witnessed the professional installation of the tree by the divers.

In conclusion, a cake was cut to celebrate the occasion, and Brigadier Khattar extended his greetings to all Civil Defense personnel, both employees and volunteers, wishing them continued health, wellness, and success in carrying out their humanitarian mission, "because the motto of Civil Defense has always been and will always be, 'At your side.'"
