The Attorney General of Cassation, Judge Ghassan Munif Ouiedat, has decided to release all detainees involved in the Beirut port explosion case. The release process has already begun, with the first to be released being the Director General of Customs, Badri Daher. MTV's information indicates that "the judicial authority is still in the hands of Judge Ouiedat, as Judge Bitar's decision from yesterday was not implemented, while Ouiedat's decision today to release the detainees will be executed by the security forces."
MTV reported that Ouiedat sent a judicial officer to inform Bitar at his home in Rabieh of a summons to listen to him tomorrow regarding the allegations against him of usurpation of power and other charges. However, Judge Bitar did not receive the judicial officer and refused to accept the lawsuit filed against him. According to MTV, the judicial officer sent by Ouiedat told Bitar, "President Ouiedat wants to see you," to which Bitar replied, "I’m the one who wants to see him, and I have a session scheduled for him in a few days," prompting the judicial officer to leave Bitar's home. Later, Ouiedat issued a decision banning Bitar from traveling.
