Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated today, Friday, that "Russian President Vladimir Putin was behind the killing of the head of the Wagner private military group, Yevgeny Prigozhin." In a press conference in Kyiv, Zelensky said: "The truth is that he killed Prigozhin, at least that is the information we all have and nothing else... This also indicates his logic and the fact that he is weak."
Zelensky pointed out that "Ukraine is facing increasing difficulty and slowness in enforcing sanctions on Russia and obtaining arms supplies to help it fend off Russian forces." He added: "The ongoing counteroffensive for three months in Ukraine will achieve faster gains in the south and east if the Ukrainian army receives more lethal weapons," noting that "the war is progressing slowly. This is true, and we acknowledge that. The operations are becoming more difficult and are slowing down further (from) the imposition of sanctions to the delivery of weapons."
