Moussa: Communications Ongoing to Determine Position on Attending the Session

Member of the Bureau and member of the "Development and Liberation" bloc, MP Michel Moussa, stated to "Al-Jomhouria" that communications continued yesterday evening among various parliamentary blocs to determine their stance on attending the legislative session that Speaker Nabih Berri is expected to call this week. One of the key proposals that might be discussed is a draft law to delay the retirement of Army Commander General Joseph Aoun. He added, "Several blocs have not yet announced their position, and it is expected that communications and orientations will mature this morning (today)."

He clarified that the Bureau meeting will receive all proposals and draft laws that have been thoroughly studied in the parliamentary committees, and there is a large number, which is divided into two sections: regular proposals and expedited repeated draft laws, from which the attendees will select the agenda. Moussa anticipated that the legislative session would be held on Thursday, saying, "However, after discussions, President Berri will decide the date of the session."
