Arrests in the Southern Suburb and Akkar for Various Crimes

The Army Command announced that "on January 29, 2024, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested citizens (M.A.), (A.M.), (H.H.), and (M.J.) in the areas of Ouzai and Hayy al-Silm in the southern suburb, who were wanted for drug possession and trafficking, forming an armed gang with others to commit robbery, theft, instigating conflicts, imposing extortion, and firing from military weapons." Additionally, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate in the Sheikh Ayyash area of Akkar arrested Syrians (B.H.) and (A.H.) for opening fire and forging documents, including identity cards, driver's licenses, and entry permits to Syrian territory. An investigation into the arrests has commenced under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
