Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman received Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian today in Jeddah, where both parties reviewed the relations between the Kingdom and the Islamic Republic of Iran, discussing future opportunities for cooperation and ways to develop them. They also addressed developments on the regional and international fronts and the efforts being made regarding these issues.
The Iranian Foreign Minister noted that "the discussions with Prince Mohammed bin Salman were candid, beneficial, and fruitful based on good neighborliness." He stated, "We had a 90-minute meeting with Prince Mohammed bin Salman, characterized by open, straightforward, and productive dialogue centered on neighborhood policy. With the will of the leaders of the two countries, we emphasized the importance of sustainable bilateral relations in all areas. In the region, we agree on 'security and development for all'."
Earlier, Abdollahian conducted an inspection visit to the Iranian Embassy in Riyadh as part of his trip to Saudi Arabia, according to the IRNA agency. During the visit, he reviewed the measures taken to prepare the Iranian embassy in Riyadh and spoke with embassy staff.
The Iranian Foreign Minister wrote on his official account on the platform "X" yesterday, saying: "I had discussions with my Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan." Regarding the details of this visit, Abdollahian confirmed: "We exchanged views on the progress in bilateral relations and cooperation in relevant fields, as well as regional and international developments and the situation in the Islamic world."
The Iranian Foreign Minister arrived in the Saudi capital Riyadh yesterday on his first official visit since the restoration of relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran last March.
