Attack on International Coalition Military Base in Erbil

The Counter-Terrorism Service in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq announced today, Tuesday, that three drones attacked an international coalition military base in Erbil. A statement from the Counter-Terrorism Service in Kurdistan Iraq indicated that "the military base of the international coalition forces to defeat ISIS at Erbil Airport was attacked early this Tuesday morning with two explosive-laden drones that were detonated in the air." The statement added that another attack targeted the same site later in the morning, where "an explosive drone fell without detonating." An official from the U.S. Department of Defense confirmed that there were no injuries or damage to infrastructure, noting that coalition forces have been attacked at least 38 times since October 17, with most of these attacks failing to reach their targets due to strong defenses.
