Al-Halabi on Teacher's Day: To Keep Education Neutral from Politics

The Minister of Education and Higher Education in the caretaker government, Abbas al-Halabi, addressed teachers on their special day, affirming that the educational community has triumphed over attempts to eliminate official education by reopening public schools to learners at all levels. He noted that "the challenge before us is not to waste any actual teaching day. Thus, we must complete the scheduled programs and conduct official exams for both the Intermediate and General Secondary Certificates in its four branches. What we promised in our latest statement and in decision number 147/M/2023, we commit to without hesitation. Therefore, the working day following Teacher's Day, which is the tenth of this month, will be the date to convey what we announced to all teachers and educational workers."

He added, "No matter the situation in the country, we extend our highest feelings of love, congratulations, gratitude, and appreciation to teachers and administrators in both the public and private sectors, academic and vocational, as well as to university professors, on the occasion of Teacher's Day. We salute their efforts and urge them to continue their mission regardless of the challenges."
