IMF: We Have Fulfilled Our Promises to Poor Countries

The Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, announced at a summit in Paris today that the fund has achieved its goal of providing Special Drawing Rights worth $100 billion to vulnerable countries. Georgieva stated before one of the summit committees, "We have lent $100 billion of Special Drawing Rights. This was our goal from 2021, and we have achieved that goal." Reaching this target is one of the key achievements announced during the Paris summit, which focuses on how to assist low-income countries in addressing debt burdens while providing more financing to meet climate goals.
