Media reports on Saturday indicated that a new massacre occurred in northern Gaza, specifically at Al-Fakhoura School, which is run by UNRWA and shelters hundreds of displaced persons. The military wing of Hamas stated that “Israeli forces committed a (massacre) at Al-Fakhoura School located in northern Gaza.” It clarified on its Telegram account that the Israeli army targeted the displaced persons at Al-Fakhoura School. Palestine TV also reported: “The Israeli army is committing a massacre at Al-Fakhoura School operated by UNRWA in northern Gaza.”
Videos circulating on social media showed dozens of corpses on the ground, some covered in blood. The initial casualty count is not yet known, and the Israeli army has not commented on the incident. Al-Fakhoura School is an institution belonging to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) located in the Jabalia Camp in the Gaza Strip. This school gained notoriety after a massacre committed by Israeli forces during the attack on Gaza (2008 - 2009), which resulted in 43 martyrs who were refugees at this school.
