Green Oil Barrel Highlights a Saudi Musical Evening in America

Saudi nationals sang patriotic songs in the heart of New York, performing "God supports you, O Mohammed" (Crown Prince), as the Saudi band participated in the concert "Masterpieces of the Saudi Orchestra in New York." The event was attended by Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan, the Saudi ambassador to the United States, and former Saudi ambassador to the U.S., Prince Turki Al-Faisal. In a poignant message, they added a backdrop of a “green oil barrel” to the musical scene, aiming to blend the idea with its meaning, transforming the barrel into a musical instrument rather than merely an oil and economic tool.

The concert, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Culture at the Metropolitan Opera House in Lincoln Center, showcased a diverse audience and high-level diplomatic attendance, featuring over 140 musicians and performers in the arts. New York is the third destination for the "Masterpieces of the Saudi Orchestra" initiative, which tours world capitals, having begun in Paris and then moved to Mexico City, with plans for a fourth destination before the end of the year.
