Flooding Consequences in Turkey

Heavy rains have caused flooding in the Borchka area of Artvin, northeastern Turkey, where water channels overflowed, transforming roads into lakes and leading to the evacuation of buildings. As a result of the flooding of the Ikali River, which flows through the Kucuk Koy area in Artvin, the ground floor of the Yeniol Mosque was inundated, and its courtyard and surroundings were also filled with water, trapping local residents inside. Some were evacuated from the windows using bulldozers. Additionally, the Artvin-Borchka and Borchka-Hopa highways were closed to traffic due to landslides at various points.
