The head of the Kharkiv Oblast administration, Vitaly Ganchev, stated in a television interview that "Russian army units have made advances in this region." Ganchev noted, "The opposing Ukrainian forces are suffering heavy losses in the Kharkiv sector of the front." According to him, Russian army units have managed to establish themselves in the residential area of Synkivka and continue their advance. He added, "Our men continue to actively work against the enemy, destroying ammunition depots and preventing rotations in enemy forces. Due to the heavy losses the enemy is incurring, they are constantly trying to send in reserve troops. To prevent this, our men have fortified and strengthened their presence in specific positions, particularly in the residential area of Synkivka, which has been mentioned increasingly lately. Our forces have taken positions there and are now able to defend better along the entire front line." He also mentioned that "looting is still thriving" in settlements controlled by Ukraine.
