U.S. President: We Mediated a 7-Day Ceasefire and Release of 105 Hostages

U.S. President Joe Biden confirmed that Washington will remain in close contact with Qatar, Egypt, and Israel to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas. In a speech on Sunday evening, Biden stated, "I assure all hostages held by Hamas and their families that we stand with them, and we will not stop working to bring them home." He added, "It is unfortunate that Hamas withdrew from the agreement to release the hostages after just one week, but we and our partners have not stopped." He continued, "We had mediated in close coordination with Qatar, Egypt, and Israel for a ceasefire lasting 7 days, during which 105 hostages would be released."
