The "Kataeb" parliamentary bloc considered that "the session for the extension of municipal and electoral councils is unconstitutional and therefore invalid, as the council has turned into an electoral body and has no right to perform any other actions based on articles 73, 74, and 75 of the constitution." The bloc affirmed in a statement that "the state of institutional chaos will only be rectified by electing a president of the republic who will sign laws to become effective; without this signature, they are considered invalid and unconstitutional," reiterating its refusal to participate in legislative sessions in the absence of a president.
Regarding the Cabinet meeting to discuss financing these elections, which took place the same day the Parliament convened in its general assembly to postpone the elections, the bloc deemed it "a disrespect to the minds of the Lebanese people and part of a play of shifting responsibilities that is fundamentally rejected." They stated, "If the government were genuinely interested in securing the amount, which is minimal compared to what it wastes here and there, it would have financed the elections weeks ago from Lebanon's special drawing rights without the need for unconstitutional legislative sessions. However, the decision to undermine institutions and their deadlines has been made by a political system not ready to face the ballot boxes after failing in every file it undertook, leading the country to historic collapses on all levels."
