Sources tell Reuters that CVC Capital Partners is likely to be the only remaining candidate for a partnership in the media rights of the German football league, as American investment firm Blackstone considers withdrawing. One source, who requested anonymity, mentioned that one of the main reasons for the withdrawal is the threat from some club officials of further delays in the process. Both Blackstone and CVC declined to comment on the matter. The last bidders were competing for up to an eight percent stake in a subsidiary of the German Football Association that owns the media rights to the domestic league. The association did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
