France: 5 Arrested on Suspicion of Planning Terrorist Attacks

French police arrested 5 individuals yesterday, Friday, on suspicion of preparing for terrorist attacks in three municipalities of the Meurthe-et-Moselle department. The newspaper L'Est Républicain reported that "the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office in Paris mobilized special service teams and led a tactical operation to apprehend the suspects, managing to arrest 5 people simultaneously on Friday morning in the municipalities of Nancy, Toul, and Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy." The newspaper noted that "the operation was carried out in collaboration between elements from various specialized anti-terrorism police units, including the Sub-Directorate for Anti-Terrorism (SDAT), the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI), and its Operations Support Group (GAO)."
