The Iraqi Military Intelligence Directorate announced today, Wednesday, the arrest of an individual impersonating a military officer with a high rank in the capital, Baghdad. The directorate stated in a statement: "Through an intelligence operation based on accurate information, the Military Intelligence Directorate was able to arrest an individual impersonating an officer in the Iraqi Army with a high rank (Major General) in the capital Baghdad."
It added that "the suspect deceived citizens by promoting job applications in government agencies in exchange for financial amounts, in addition to issuing various forged IDs for several departments and false appointment applications, as well as forged IDs and authorization letters, among others." It emphasized that "the suspect will be referred to the judicial authorities to take legal action against him."
