Shutdown in Public Transport Network in Germany

Bus and tram stations across Germany came to a halt today, Friday, disrupting millions of commuters and travelers, as 90,000 public transport workers went on strike to demand improved working conditions. The strike, called by the Ver.di labor union in all federal states except Bavaria, is the latest in a series of protests in the transport sector in the country in recent weeks. Notable exceptions include Berlin, where a short strike was announced for about seven hours during the morning. A spokesperson for the union stated, "We announced the strike for better working conditions and a better future in the public transport sector."
