# Bin Zayed Discusses Humanitarian Corridors to Gaza with Kishida and Guterres

The President of the UAE, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, discussed with Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres the efforts to open humanitarian corridors to deliver aid to the Gaza Strip. The Emirates News Agency reported that "Bin Zayed received a phone call from Kishida, during which they discussed the paramount priority of ensuring full protection for civilians in accordance with the principles of international humanitarian law and the necessity of sparing them further suffering amid the escalating serious developments in Gaza."

The two sides also discussed "the necessity of intensifying international efforts to take immediate actions to cease fire, prevent further escalation, and deterioration in humanitarian conditions, along with intensifying diplomatic efforts to open urgent humanitarian corridors for the uninterrupted delivery of relief and medical aid."

Bin Zayed also received a phone call from Guterres, during which they discussed "the need for immediate measures to prevent further deterioration in the humanitarian situation in Gaza, alongside intensifying diplomatic efforts to open urgent humanitarian corridors and to establish a ceasefire for humanitarian purposes to allow for the unrestricted delivery of relief and medical supplies to the sector."

Both sides emphasized "the priority of providing protection for civilians and preserving their lives under international humanitarian law amid the violence and worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza." They affirmed the importance of "immediate action to stop the escalation and create opportunities for diplomatic efforts to contain the situation and restore calm," while highlighting "the potential serious ramifications of the crisis on peace, stability, and security in the region."
