The U.S. State Department announced on Monday that American military equipment sales to foreign governments increased by 16% in 2023, reaching a record $238 billion, as countries seek to replenish stocks sent to Ukraine and prepare for major conflicts. These figures highlight expectations of stronger sales for companies such as Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman, with their stocks anticipated to rise amid increasing global instability. Direct military sales by U.S. companies rose to $157.5 billion in fiscal year 2023, up from $153.6 billion in fiscal year 2022, while sales arranged through the U.S. government increased to $80.9 billion in 2023 from $51.9 billion the previous year.
