Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a decree imposing sanctions on 193 individuals, the majority being Russian nationals, as well as on 291 companies from Russia and other countries. The statement noted: "Implementation of the decision of the Ukrainian Security and Defense Council dated July 1, 2023, regarding the imposition of personal economic sanctions."
The sanctions last for ten years and include asset freezes, restrictions on business operations (complete cessation), prohibition on capital withdrawal from Ukraine, a ban on technology transfer, intellectual property rights restrictions, suspension of economic and financial obligations, and prohibition on transferring intellectual property technology.
Zelensky's sanctions also targeted the Georgian airline Georgian Airways and its general director Tamaz Gayashvili. Among the Russian companies included in the sanctions are the design office "Topaz," the "Gaz" automobile manufacturing plant, the "Rostov" optical and mechanical plant, and the "Avia Remont" company. The sanctions list includes oil refineries belonging to "Lukoil" and "Gazprom Neft."
