Buhabib: The Danger of the Conflict's Expansion is Increasing Across the Middle East

The Acting Representative of Lebanon to the United Nations, Diplomatic Advisor Hadi Hashem, delivered a speech on behalf of Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib at the UN Security Council session. He stated, "In the absence of a political solution and with the war on Gaza entering its third week, and the failure of Western countries to curb Israel's blind desire for revenge, the danger of the conflict's expansion is increasing throughout the Middle East." He emphasized that "there will be no peace in the region without a fair resolution to the Palestinian issue and Israel's withdrawal from all occupied Arab territories in Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria." He continued, "The Arab countries accepted peace and approved it unitedly in 2002, but unfortunately, the victim consented while the killer did not." He concluded that "no charter or law justifies the systematic killing of a people that has been imprisoned in a large jail for more than half a century."
