The S&P 500 index touched a new record high today, Monday, in another session where the main Wall Street indices gained ground as investors awaited corporate earnings reports and any signals for interest rate cuts this year. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 55.75 points, or 0.15 percent, to 37,919.55 points. The S&P 500 increased by 13.61 points, or 0.28 percent, to 4,853.42 points, while the Nasdaq composite climbed 82.08 points, or 0.54 percent, to 15,393.05 points.
