Sebastian Co, the President of the International Association of Athletics Federations, indicated on Monday that "the Olympic door for Russian athletes remains closed," but he also offered a glimmer of hope by acknowledging that "things are changing" in the world, highlighting a working group that is monitoring the situation. Earlier this month, the International Olympic Committee stated that "athletes from Russia and Belarus who qualify in their sports for the Paris 2024 Games can participate as neutrals without flags, logos, or national anthems, which alters the original comprehensive ban following the invasion of Ukraine."
