Meeting at the Ministry of Industry to Discuss an Emergency Plan to Ensure Factory Operations

Minister of Industry in the caretaker government, George Bushkian, chaired a meeting in collaboration with the Lebanese Industrialists Association, represented by First Vice President Ziad Bakkar, leading a delegation to discuss an industrial emergency plan to secure the basic requirements of the industrial sector and enable it to continue production to meet the needs of the Lebanese people and ensure that industrialists fulfill their export commitments.

The meeting focused on the following essential points:

- Enhancing cooperation between the Civil Defense and the private industrial sector to apply initial guidelines for fire response and containment until Civil Defense teams arrive.

- Establishing a working mechanism with shipping agents to ensure the continuous import of raw materials for industry and the export of industrial products to meet the obligations of industrialists abroad.

- Developing a joint strategy with oil import companies to allocate a stock of diesel fuel and other fuels to the industrial sector, ensuring continuity of operations.

- Creating a mechanism between insurance companies and the industrial sector to cover policies for losses resulting from the war.
