The President of the Progressive Socialist Party, MP Timour Jumblatt, emphasized the "necessity of achieving justice in the case of the port explosion, which we can only reach by resuming judicial investigations, addressing the issues, and halting political interventions that hinder the full revelation of the truth." On the third anniversary commemorating this "national and humanitarian tragedy," he expressed solidarity with the families of the victims, the injured, and the affected individuals. In this context, he reminded that the party advocates for the formation of an international investigative committee to uncover the circumstances surrounding the explosion, who was responsible for bringing ammonium nitrate into the port, and who benefited from its removal and to whose advantage.
Jumblatt also discussed the 22nd anniversary of the Mountain Reconciliation during statements made after receptions on Saturday at the Mukhayyar Palace, stressing the importance of "holding onto it and providing the elements necessary for its stability and enhancement to ensure it remains impactful, affirming the history and future of the mountain."
