The public prosecutor in Mount Lebanon, Judge Ghada Aoun, wrote on the platform "X": "Good morning to the decent people. The story of the oil jug. The requests for dismissal are used only to halt the course of justice. But more troubling is that the disciplinary council dismissed me for not being informed about some requests for dismissal. To clarify: when there is a dispute, it is obvious that both parties must be notified. This is what I confirmed; that it is necessary to inform the opposing party of the request for dismissal that halts the lawsuit, because in the opposite case, where the judge is informed before the parties, it deprives the opposing party of their right to defend, and notifying them serves no purpose since the lawsuit would have already been suspended by default, which constitutes a flagrant violation of the principle of presence." She pointed out that "most legislations stipulate that the public prosecution's dismissal is not permissible, hoping for the legislator's intervention to rid us of this absurdity."
