An intelligence source from Ukraine reported today, Thursday, that "the Ukrainian Security and Navy forces conducted an attack last night on the Saky airbase in western Crimea, which is under Russian control, resulting in significant losses." The source stated: "The strikes by the Security and Navy inflicted severe damage on the occupiers' equipment." It was mentioned that drones were initially used, followed by Neptune cruise missiles during the operation.
The source added that "the airbase housed at least 12 fighter jets and a portable air defense system, and it was also used for training in operating drones." The Ukrainian military confirmed that its forces launched an attack on the Saky airbase in occupied Crimea during the night. The army clarified via the Telegram app that "Ukrainian defense forces conducted a joint attack on a military airbase near the city of Saky."
Oleg Kryuchkov, an advisor to the local administration appointed by Russia, Serhiy Aksyonov, stated that "the Russian forces intercepted all Ukrainian missiles that attempted to strike the Saky airbase in Crimea."
