Global Trade Resilience Index: UAE Ranks First Among Arab Countries

The global strategy and public policy consulting firm "Witchield" has unveiled the first edition of its Global Trade Resilience Index report on the sidelines of the Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai. The UAE leads the list of highest-performing countries in the Arab region on the "Witchield" Global Trade Resilience Index, thanks to its role as a major global trade hub, its conducive business environment, diverse portfolio of trade partners, world-class infrastructure, high-quality logistics services, and exceptional customs capabilities.

Fadi Farah, managing partner at Witchield, stated, "Witchield has taken the initiative to create the Global Trade Resilience Index report in light of the growing interest in global trade policy issues and their role in enhancing the sustainability of economies worldwide. The report provides an unprecedented methodology to assist countries in identifying ways to strengthen their resilience to trade fluctuations and recover from them." He added, "The release of this report coincides with the COP28 conference in Dubai, and we hope it will contribute to achieving the conference's goals, especially in areas that leverage trade-related policies to stimulate climate protection actions and promote sustainable development."

Moreover, Raed Safadi, Chief Economist at Witchield, mentioned, "The report serves as a powerful tool to support economic resilience using innovative methods based on network theory, along with simulations of trade disruptions and assessing their potential impact on trade flows."
