Russia Thwarts Drone Attack on Oil Refinery

The governor of the Yaroslavl region in Russia, Mikhail Evraev, announced that air defense systems thwarted a drone attack today, Monday, on an oil refinery in the city of Yaroslavl, northeast of Moscow. He noted that the incident did not result in a fire or injuries. Evraev wrote about the incident, which took place at the third-largest oil refinery in Russia based on 2022 production: "Law enforcement and special units are working at the scene. There were no injuries or fires." This attempted attack follows a series of similar drone attacks on energy infrastructure in Russia in recent weeks, some of which have disrupted fuel production.
