Ronaldo: I Felt Betrayed!

The Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed that he felt "betrayed" by the way he was treated by Manchester United, expressing his frustration over becoming a "scapegoat" for everything that went wrong at the club. Ronaldo believes, in an interview with well-known British journalist Piers Morgan on the show "Piers Morgan Uncensored," which was excerpted by the newspaper "The Sun," that he is now being forced to leave.

Regarding some of his most vocal critics, such as former teammate Wayne Rooney, who has publicly attacked Ronaldo for months and urged United to get rid of him, he expressed his disbelief at their headline-making motives. He said, "I don't know why he criticizes me so harshly, perhaps because he ended his career while I am still playing at a high level... I won't say I look better than him."

Ronaldo found the strength to continue playing recently, partly driven by the amazing support he received from rival fans, such as those from Liverpool, who sang "You'll Never Walk Alone" in the seventh minute (Ronaldo wears the number 7 on his shirt). On the other hand, the Portuguese international was shocked that he did not receive support from his club, especially when his three-month-old daughter was hospitalized last July, and he could not return in time for preseason training because he wanted to stay with her.

Ronaldo stated that senior executives at Old Trafford questioned him when he explained why he could not return, which made him feel "hurt."
