The Korean Central News Agency reported that "North Korean leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the testing of a new shore-to-ship missile on Wednesday." Kim stated, "South Korea is violating North Korea's sovereignty by insisting on the 'Northern Limit Line', which is the maritime boundary between the two Koreas." The South Korean military announced that North Korea fired several cruise missiles into the sea on Wednesday, marking the fifth test of such missiles, in an intensification of weapons displays and an escalation of tensions in the region.
