The lawyer of the Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salameh, in France, Pierre Olivier Sur, indicated that "the Code of Criminal Procedure states that summons should occur 10 days after interrogation, yet he was summoned before the deadline." He noted that "the French judges confirmed that there may be other judges without specifying their identities or nationalities," and Salameh requested the identification of the judges and the questions posed to prepare the required answers.
In an interview with "Jadeed," he stated: "Salameh requested the summons to be sent again within the legal deadline and expressed his willingness to appear," affirming, "I have previously obtained the cancellation of similar arrest warrants from Interpol when we manage to prove that the judges did not respect the laws, and this is what we will attempt to demonstrate."
He emphasized that "French law is subject to Interpol's decision if the latter decides to cancel the arrest warrant against Governor Salameh." He remarked that "the governor is accused of providing an interest rate of 10% while the market rate was 0%, in addition to allegations regarding monetary policies, which is purely a political matter unrelated to France."
