Images captured by the Iraqi channel "Nas" on Tuesday showcased mammatus clouds in the sky over the outskirts of Sulaymaniyah, in a natural phenomenon resembling bulging bubbles, which is completely different from the clouds we commonly know with their flat bases. The term "mammatus" refers to a cluster of clouds that are interconnected and resemble wrinkled cotton balls. Each cluster consists of interconnected parts that extend for hundreds of kilometers across the sky. These clouds form due to the contrast between the cold upper temperature and the humidity levels in the lower atmospheric layers, as the oscillation is what creates such clouds.
