Title: Al-Murtada to Those Attempting to Subvert: "Sew with Another Thread"

The following statement was issued by the Minister of Culture, Judge Muhammad Wissam Al-Murtada: "Some have attempted to spread a rumor concerning the position of the Presidency of the Parliament, and to them, we say: The course of matters in the performance of the Minister of Culture is directed towards his commitment to fulfilling his ministerial duties with detachment, clarity of vision, and persistent diligence, spreading awareness and defending values, serving the Lebanese people without discrimination, and being faithful to the trust bestowed upon him by the references of the duo." He added: "As for those who fabricated news regarding the Presidency of the Parliament, and attributed it to someone they described as a 'prominent deputy in the duo', we say: This baseless news, with no close or distant foundation, reflects your irritation at President Berri's steadfastness in protecting Lebanon and its people, and his creative ability to devise solutions to the dilemmas that you are entangling national life with. Therefore, 'sew with another thread.' And remember a line of poetry that perfectly fits your situation: 'And the treatment of bodies is easier to deal with when they suffer than the treatment of minds.'"
