The Barcelona Human Rights Film Festival in Spain will premiere the Yemeni film "Bride in a Land Mine Field" at the opening of its twentieth edition, which kicks off on Friday and runs until December 10. The producing organization, "Journalists Without Restrictions," announced on its X social media account on Wednesday that the documentary, directed by Yemeni filmmaker Hanaa Saleh, tells the story of a girl who was about to get married when a mine exploded, changing her life forever. The organization added that the film also provides an intense portrayal of the reality in Yemen, which has been enduring a brutal conflict for nearly nine years, during which thousands of mines have been planted, resulting in hundreds of civilian casualties. The festival, organized by the Cultural Association for Human Rights, showcases a diverse array of films from around the world. The Barcelona Festival is the oldest independent human rights film festival in Spain and serves as one of the most significant platforms for humanitarian stories and films.
