Hamidti in Audio Recording: There Must Be a Comprehensive Solution in Sudan

Today, the leader of the Rapid Support Forces, Mohamed Daglo (Hamidti), appeared in an audio recording discussing the need for a "comprehensive solution in Sudan." He remarked that "the war will be a defining moment against the injustice faced by Sudanese people." He stated, "We did not plan for war nor did we seek it; we aim to free Sudan from the fallen regime," expressing his readiness "to cooperate with any committee investigating the assassination of the West Darfur governor."

He added, "The army's intelligence has armed tribes in Darfur to sow discord." Hamidti extended his "thanks to Saudi Arabia, the United States, and all organizations and countries for their efforts." He noted, "What happened in Geneina was not surprising, and we warned about it; we apologize to our people for the harm caused by this war."

For their part, sources in the Sudanese army believe that Hamidti's statement today comes after significant anger directed at the Rapid Support Forces due to the brutal manner in which the governor of Darfur was killed. They considered his remarks "diplomatic, aiming to justify the accusations directed against him."
