The Swedish Security Police announced today, Friday, that "the investigation regarding the explosive device found outside the Israeli embassy in Stockholm on January 31 is being conducted as it could be a terrorist crime." Bomb disposal experts eventually detonated the device, and there were no injuries or damage to the building. The Swedish Prime Minister later described the incident as "an attempted attack." The Security Police, which is now responsible for the investigation, stated, "The criminal classification of the suspected crime has been changed to a terrorist crime due to the severe illegal threats and attempts to cause public destruction."
