Netanyahu: Israel has Destroyed Two-Thirds of Hamas Forces

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today, Thursday, that Israel has destroyed approximately two-thirds of the military brigades belonging to the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip, pledging to continue the war until achieving "complete victory."

Netanyahu stated in a press conference in Tel Aviv, "There are two phases of the fighting... the first is the destruction of Hamas brigades, which are its organized combat units." He added, "So far, 16 or 17 out of 24 have been destroyed. Then comes the phase of clearing the area of militants. The first procedure is usually shorter, while the second typically takes longer."

Holding a picture of an Israeli soldier who fell in battle, Netanyahu vowed that soldiers would not have fallen in vain, promising to continue fighting until Hamas is defeated and the hostages held in Gaza are restored. He concluded, "Victory will take many more months, but we are determined to achieve it."
