Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to allow U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken to meet Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi privately. The United States released the schedule for Blinken's visit to Israel this morning, which stated that he was supposed to meet Halevi today at 1:15 PM separately. Netanyahu's office opposed the meeting, and as a result, it was canceled. A political official stated, "We are not a banana republic, and we will not allow a senior foreign political official to meet with the Chief of Staff without the presence of a political level." The source estimated that it was a misunderstanding on the part of the Americans.
