The media office of Hamas in Lebanon issued a clarification stating: "Yesterday, we encountered a media figure presenting a video accusing Hamas, our brothers in the Islamic Jihad Movement, and Hezbollah of supporting armed groups in the Ain al-Hilweh camp amid the struggle for control over Palestinian decisions in the Palestinian camps in Lebanon. We, in the Islamic Resistance Movement - Hamas, reject these false and fabricated accusations that contradict our policies and beliefs. We consider them to be renewed old attempts within the desperate endeavors to discredit Hamas and the Palestinian resistance. From the very first day of the outbreak of events in the camp, we have worked with all Palestinian and Lebanese factions, Lebanese security agencies, and the Palestinian ambassador in Lebanon to halt the fire and maintain the camp and its residents along with the Lebanese community. We will continue our efforts with all sincere individuals to achieve security and stability in the camp.
Hamas and the Palestinian factions in Lebanon are all working collectively within the framework of the Palestinian Joint Action Committee, which is tasked with managing all issues concerning our Palestinian people in Lebanon, and there is no battle over competencies or control of the Palestinian decision among us. These claims and others are entirely disconnected from the truth, serving only the Israeli occupation and the enemies of the resistance who seek to fracture the internal Palestinian unity, sow the seeds of discord, and thwart Palestinian and Lebanese efforts to eradicate it."
